Beautiful bike but Warranty is a joke

Beware if you are a reasonably competent home bike mechanic and something goes wrong with the bike. State won’t warranty a defective tire because I assembled the bike myself. I should have bought a bike from my local shop instead of this fraudulent operation. The bike store might charge more but at least they are reputable. Terrible experience.

Best all around bike ever

*Im a SBC rider but Im also a bike snob who owns many other bike brands*

This bike is the best all-around bike I’ve ever owned- It 100% earned its name as an “All-Road” as it truly performs well on any surface. I put 2000 miles of pavement on this bike and ALWAYS picked it over my carbon road bike when I was doing intervals because it just made them much more fun. This bike is wildly fast on paved roads, so much that the 40mm tire penalty compared to a road bike is almost non existent. I bring up its impression on the road because that is almost impossible to find on a gravel bike and you’ll find that very important on long grueling mixed surface adventures.

NOW to the gravel, which is where the bike shows it’s full personality: The geometry is well balanced to be both “race ready” while also having enough head tube length to make you confident and comfortable on the toughest trails. The geo alone sold me on the bike, but the components and build quality rounded it out to compete with high level $3k+ gravel bikes. State has always been good at competing on a budget, but this bike just kills it at that.

Again, I feel this bike earned its name as an All-Road and would recommend this to anyone torn on whether they need a gravel bike or not. You’ll find yourself saving money as you won’t need to look any further for a race-ready adventure bike!

So damn good make you'll wanna buy a 4130 All-Road too!

This bike is so fast and fun, I want to make it my full time road bike and do the dirt climb after the no drop group ride. I can ride it anywhere but it eats single track for breakfast. Ultimate gravel bike for a price unmatched. Seriously thinking of getting the 4130 all road and set it up as a mtb.

SO MUCH BANG FOR THE BUCK

THE most capable bike you can get for the money! The aluminum frame rides so smooth and carbon fork is so comfy for the off road sendies! Masters all the roads, pavement, gravel, single track, you name it - it’s done it and then some! That copper in the light tho.... unreal! Most fun I’ve had on a bike in a while!

Best Bike Ever

I’ve been riding Mountain and road for over 25 years and run a local bike shop. A customer brought in a State bike and I was intrigued. I immediately got on their website and fell in Love with the 6061 All road. It took me about 10 minutes to order it and 3 days later it was on my doorstep. I immediately assembled and went in a 30mile ride. I was amazed at how comfortable the bike felt and how easily I ride those 30 miles. I went from a Roubaix Expert and this bike felt even better. The size is spot on. I’m 5’9” and ordered a Small. It feels amazing and so comfortable on long rides. I was worried about the 1x setup but it closely geared to my MTB so it feels super natural. We did some hard climbing this weekend and the bike don’t miss a beat. I’m new to the Gravel scene so have yet to test that aspect of it. But let me tell you, El Paso has some rough roads and riding tubeless smoothed a lot of that out. I feel much less fatigued and sore after a long ride. It’s an amazing machine with the easiest financing I’ve ever used. You will not be disappointed.

Roadie goes Gravel

Wasn't one to believe in "love at first sight" but hot damn! I may have been sold before my butt even touched the saddle. The thought of owning a gravel bike always crossed my mind but with everything in the market coming in around $2500-$3000 I was intimidated. Worried I'd spend a large sum and barely ride it. I got the opportunity to ride the black label all road in flagstaff (my first gravel ride) and the relationship grew closer. Not only did the bike look badass, it was one of the most enjoyable, comfortable, easy to figure out bikes I had ever ridden. Since then I have tested its limits riding single track meant for full suspension mountain bikes. It has handled it all with ease. Excited for the places this bike will take me. Super worth the money for those looking to get into gravel riding.

Excellent for the money!

Excellent gravel grinder for the price! Nice and light, agile.

A few little picks from my experience:
1. The shift cable housing was routed to the same side of the head tube, didn’t cause any issues besides worn paint, and was switched over pretty quickly.
2. Wheels are definitely tubeless COMPATIBLE, not tubeless READY, and came slightly out of true out of the box.
3. I don’t care for the stock seat post due to the single bolt adjustment and the set-back, it works fine I just prefer a zero setback post.
4. The front fork doesn’t accept fenders (at least PDW fenders that I have) that match 650bx47 tires, but it IS a gravel race bike.
5. The derailleur hangar is a bit weak and made out of cast aluminum, not CNC, but again, the price. State will sell you a hangar for $14.99+Shipping as well, you just have to shoot them an email and they’ll set you up right.

Otherwise it arrived in excellent condition and was no issue at all to put together! Definitely worth the purchase price as long as you’re willing to spend a few minutes to ditch the stock rim tape for some Stans tape or your preferred rim tape brand and valve stems.

State always has excellent customer service, and they get back to you pretty fast with knowledgeable answers to all your questions. Great bikes, great service, direct to consumer!

I'm Loving it!

This is the second frameset I've ever built into a bike. I chose it because of the tire clearance, relatively affordable price and it looks so pretty, admittedly.

Building with this frame was no more difficult than building with my Raleigh RXM 2017 frame a few years back. A few hours of work a day after my day job for a week and now I have myself a very pretty bike. I love the black carbon fork and flat mount brake fixtures front and rear. I know this frame is meant for gravel but the generous tire clearances means that it's great for my current local commuter setup with mudguards, bags, lights and all. I'll do gravel one of these days. My setup is pretty light at about 20lbs. Down 5lbs from my previous steel bike setup. And I could feel it. It feels faster and more nimble. These past few weeks I've found myself riding out for longer during my daily commutes, high on that new bike energy. I'm currently loving the bike that I've built with this frameset.

Gravel, road, single track... It does it all

Such a solid bike. The 650b’s and 1x11 set up are dialed in for just about anything, even some chunky single track. The copper paint is an absolute head turner on the extremely comfy al frame. The SBC carbon fork is super comfy as well, especially for softening the ride on chattery sections. & the mech. disc brakes tie it all together while keeping it simple! Thanks for delivering another epic rig, State!

Greatest introduction to gravel

This is my fist ever gravel bike and I must say this thing rips! I’ve mainly only ridden road and track bikes but this is definitely one of my new favorites. The build quality is amazing for the price and definitely ready for anything you throw at it. My first ride was on some sharp flint rock and steep downhills that you wouldn’t only take a mountain bike on but this bike held its own. Even if only ridden on road and canals this bike is one of the smoothest peddling bikes and feels comfortable to ride for hours.
