I purchased a brand new State 6061 with these pedals and I had a horrible experience. I couldn't clip in no matter how hard I tried. I use the same SPD-style shoes and cleats on other pedals for spin and it works no problem. The shoe doesn't appear to be obstructing my ability to get into the clipless side, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Another review mentions a surprising amount of force to get the cleat into the pedal...no matter how much force I used I could not seem to get it in. After adjusting the tension all the way down and trying to increase it incrementally to find the right fit, eventually the screw was stripped just from regular adjustments. Wasted $60 out of an almost-$1500 purchase and I'm out of the exchange window so I guess these are just expensive paperweights now...

The pedals themselves are great, well made and fairly easy to put on. I wish they included some grease, but that isn't a huge deal. My only complaint is that the clipless side feels a bit tight for a gravel pedal, even when set as loose as possible. It takes some serious force to seat the cleats into the pedal, more than I would have expected.

The flat sides are nice. They are as comfortable as other bmx/street style high density plastic flats. No complaints. The SPD clip in side work well too. I put these pedals on my track (fixie) build and wanted the ability to ride the track AND cruise around the neighborhood on it. I love that I have the option for wearing both types of shoes for one bike.

The platform/clipless pedals are great. They provide the flexibility of flat or SPD depending on bike use for the ride. I was worried they might be heavy, but, weigh the same as the Shimano SPD's i replaced them with, 145 grams....at a great price, too.

Good upgrade from the stock alloy platforms. Great integration with the State Bicycle components. Continually impressed with the quality for the price!

These pedals, which were very hard to find eith the current supply chain issues, have allowed me to make my State both my “round town” bike as well as gravel grinder. Price was unmatched elsewhere.

Boom. Power transfer is much improved with my new SBC spd cleats paired with Shimano Xc07 gravel riding shoes. 10/10 would recommend

These are like crocs; flat side for chill rides or clip in for sport mode! Never had any issues clipping in either!
