🚨 Important Update – May 12, 2025 - Tariff Recovery Fee & Supply Chain Impact
The latest U.S. trade actions have made importing bicycles and components significantly more expensive and unpredictable.
We’re currently facing 55%+ in tariffs on goods from China*, with other key countries seeing major increases soon:
-
Taiwan: 10% now*, rising to 34% in July
-
Vietnam: 10% now*, rising to 46% in July
-
Cambodia: 10% now*, rising to 49% in July
(*All rates are in addition to standard import duties)
We’re a small company that relies on a global network of over 20 factories just to produce a simple single-speed bike. Frames, forks, hubs, seatposts, tires—you name it—each comes from a different supplier and country, each hit by tariffs.
What This Means for You
🔥 Inventory will be limited – Many high-demand models may sell out quickly, and restocks will take longer.
📈 Prices may increase – We're doing everything possible to avoid large price hikes, but the pressure is mounting.
🛒 Now is the time to buy – Availability and pricing are subject to rapid change.
Why We Charge an 8% Tariff Recovery Fee
To avoid raising MSRP across the board, we’re keeping our 8% Tariff Recovery Fee in place. This is less than the 10% surcharge many other brands are currently charging.
We’re still eating the majority of the increases, and this small fee helps us stay operational without compromising product quality or service.
FAQs (Quick Version)
What is the fee?
An 8% charge on affected items to offset rising import costs due to tariffs.
Why not raise prices instead?
Transparency. We want you to see exactly what’s driving costs—and remove the fee once conditions improve.
Will this fee go away?
Yes, once tariffs ease or policy becomes clearer, we’ll reduce or eliminate it.
Is this common?
Yes. Most brands are charging 10% or more already.
*The current 10% rates on Taiwan, Vietnam, and Cambodia are due to a temporary 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs, which expires in July 2025. Rates are expected to rise sharply after that.
