Tire upgrade

I ordered a pair of Terreno Zero 700cx38 tires for my State 4130 SS. They ride smooth and are bit lighter than those the bike came with. The tires were reviewed in Bicycling magazine and compared to a couple of other options. Mounted they measure out at 39.1 wide.

I had to order a replacement tire for my 6061 All Road bike due to the fact that I converted to tubeless and was running the tire at 90PSI. My old school habit of running high psi on the road bit me in the rear. that tire blew up when the tire expanded and I damaged it beyond repair. My new tire came in and I very easily replaced the damage tire. I now run both tires at 70psi on the road and about 45-50 on the gravel and I couldn't be happier. These tires are amazing on and off road and thanks to State Bicycle, it was shipped very quickly to me.

Fast tires

I take these suckers on the streets and on packed gravel paths. Fast and pretty good grip on the gravel. However if you run into some loose gravel you may fish tail here and there.

Durable!

Cons: Difficult to install, very little grip in loose gravel
Pros: Great on streets, reasonable in wet, flat resistant

Your mileage may vary, but I've been using the original tires my 4130 was shipped with on a mix of city streets and local flint hills gravel since 2021. I also biked across Kansas on these. Plenty of tread left after probably 4000 miles, and so far NO FLATS (with tubes! I'm not running tubeless). Apparently a lot of people around here enjoy smashing bottles on bike paths, sidewalks and streets...I don't always manage to avoid it. I've picked glass shards out of the center tread many times but its never got far enough in to pop the tube. I tend to run at about 45 psi all the time, maybe that helps.

Quiet, soft ride for those weird paved/unpaved routes*

Grips well without picking up any rocks.
-1 star for being harder to install than my Panaracers, but I also have t-rex arms so your experience may vary.

*tubed setup in SE TX with no winter-related rock salt.
