It's good to be back on a State.

My Contender II was stolen a couple years ago by the staff of the Lowell, MA MBTA station parking structure staff and I had not been able to afford a new machine til now. I am very pleased with my new frame, but the shitty components it shipped with will be donated to bikes not bombs, and replaced with something workable. I would have spent another couple hundred bucks if there were more customization options available at point of purchase, but like Thanos says "I'LL DO IT MYSELF".

Great base bike for a custom build.

Purchase a size 49 black label V2 Rick and Morty edition. Delivery was quick within a week, the package came damage from FedEx. The carbon fork was poking through the box and some small items were missing. The fit and finish was Surprisingly gorgeous with a high glossy black w/Color metallic flakes.

Pros: Clean-looking design, attractive finish, good drivetrain & components.

Cons: untrue rims, cheap rim tape, generic 25mm Chinese tires, 28 mm tires will not fit in rear despite being listed in bike specs (No clearance over calipers or mounting member), OK seat & pedals. Safety issue with compression plug for the fork tube being too short. Plug does not run the entire length of the stem clamp area, this can cause a catastrophic failure in the carbon component. I replaced the factory expansion plug with a longer aftermarket one.

All in all a decent bike, I would not hesitate buying a second one if some of these issues were corrected... Nick from Texas. 🤠

State 4130 All Road -No Sonaran Tan for me

I really wanted to give 5 stars. But to ship me the wrong colour frame? How does that even happen? Shipping label reader person you lost a star. State owned up to it however so I am good with that. I will learn to cope with Pigeon Gray. It ain’t a fashion show after all. They gotta change that name.

solid pedal, solid price but

You still get what you pay for. Sounds cliche, but it's true. To be clear, these are fine pedals; solid metal construction, no frills, classic style. Some cons; paint chips easily (got the white...probably an unwise choice), the threading piece that tightens the pedal to the crank is plastic, and the pedals are HUGE. Maybe you want a massive pedal, but I didn't think it would be this large. So get your feet right before taking any turns at speed or you'll be grinding away your new pedals.

Good Pedals

They definitely are a little chunky but they work really well with straps, which is why I got them. I scraped em up good while turning on a really tight corner but they barely lost any paint! Pretty durable and at a good price.

Got the bike quickly and happy with the service. Not able to ride for awhile so the ride review will have to wait.

Pretty basic. Reflectors that I got to remove, standard cheap black paint and heavy. Lame.

Foot on the Pedal

I purchased these pedals and straps to secure my feet, I normally use SPD pedals and shoes, however we want to ride in Italy in a few months. I was paralyzed from cancer from the chest down, but have recovered with the exception I really can't feel my feet! So the large platform pedals and straps are working and hopefully I can take the straps to Italy for a bike rental, easier than taking shoes and pedals. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the purchase and the products.
