Great classic bike

Great looking, well built bike!

Slightly satisfied

A few of the screws/nuts didn’t easily thread together.

One of the nuts for the back rack is completely stuck on the screw and doesn’t allow me to turn in leaving the rack to rattle during the ride. It’s completely distracting. The bike looks great, but the parts are subpar.

Flashbacks of Amsterdam!!!

While taking the Black and Tan City Bike out for it's "maiden voyage", it was eerie just how much the ride reminded me of my Dutch-made city bike. The geometry and ergonomics are so close to identical, with one's eyes closed, one might be fooled into believing they were, indeed, cruising on a European machine! I do not, however recommend riding ANY bicycle with your eyes shut, for reasons no one should have to explain.
The similarities end there, however. The State Black and Tan is a MUCH PRETTIER and less utilitarian two-wheeler than its Dutch counterpart. This is one gorgeous bike! The classic look really turns heads (and gets compliments from those more discerning, refined and aesthetically inclined, but I may be a bit biased)! Love it!!! I ring the bell and find myself transported to the busy streets of Amsterdam...:)

City Bike - The Black & Tan (Single-Speed)
An instant classic

Nothing more timeless than a Black & Tan with chrome accents. Mustache-bars, coaster brake, new 35c tires, and an affixed bottle opener keep it old-school on this ultra-light cruiser.

The City Bike Line is a thoughtfully designed, modern take on a classic style. Commuter-minded features such as fenders and a chain guard not only keep you and your bike clean but also contribute to a classic, refined design that includes a riveted leatherette saddle and retro-inspired metal pedals. Providing comfort without sacrificing on style, mustache-style handlebars outfitted with lock-on leatherette grips keep you in an upright riding position as you coast through the city streets on cushy 35c tires, while a coaster brake provides worry-free stopping power.

The City Bike line provides you the ability to opt for the ultimate simplicity of a single-speed or to choose an internal 3-speed hub for more demanding routes.
