Brakes

So my last review said the front brakes were sized for 140mm rotors. I am new to disk brakes and did not know you could just remove the brackets the calipers are on, and flip it over to make it 160mm. So if you order a new bike and the front rotor won't fit, just make sure the bracket is on the correct side.

Sweet entry level 6061 gravel bike.

This ride is sweet for an entry level bike at this price. Solid smooth ride. If you know bikes, it will take you 5 minutes to set up out of box. Only issue I had was, I had to replace the front brake rotor from 160mm to 140mm. The front brake caliper even had stated it is a 140mm, but the front wheel was sent with a 160mm on it. Other that than no issues with the bike, solid ride.

If you want to get into gravel and off road riding without spending too much, this is the way to go. Parts can be upgraded along the way.

This is my first gravel bike after riding other used road bikes and you can already feel the upgrade once you open the box. Amazing color scheme and feels ready for many miles on road or gravel!

State 6061 All-Road - Dune Tan 700C

Purchased this bike outfitted with the tubed 700C tire option. For starters, this bike is beautiful. The graphics are premium and, to my eyes, the 6061 doesn't look out of place at group rides parked next to cervelos, canyon, and s-works rigs. On gravel, with the monster carbon fork, this bike feels sturdy but compliant. The State-branded drivetrain shifts like a dream - upshifting or downshifting just as fast as you can pull the shifter. The flare in the drop bars and the overall geometry of the bike are very comfortable for distance rides. The single complaint I have about this bike - the brakes could certainly be more responsive. All in all, I think this bike is well worth the hard earned dollars though I do think a brake upgrade is in my future.
