The best.

I had a state single speed (core line) in college and that thing was my steed. But since graduating and moving to an area with more hills and dirt trails, I have recently had the desire to bikepack and hit some gravel. Been on the lookout for a do it all bike. This bike was the answer to my list of must-haves. And the value?! Are we kidding? So accessible for what you receive. I really appreciate that because lately it seems like everywhere you pay so much money for low quality stuff. This feels the opposite to me. I was so worried about buying a bike online and paying for a shop to set it up without getting to test ride it first but since I had a State bike before I figured it would be okay. Luckily not only was it okay, but it is my favorite bike I’ve ever owned and I feel like it was designed for the kind of riding I want to do. It rips, it’s pretty as can be, and I get compliments regularly. Plus my smile is visible from a mile away when I’m on it. Great feel on dirt and pavement alike. All I want to do is ride this bike. It’s a dream come true and checks all the boxes… EXCEPT for one thing. The saddle. I don’t know what human this was made for, but I can guarantee it definitely was not made for a woman trying to ride long distances. Bummer because I had to buy a new saddle to replace my new bike’s… also new saddle. I know this isn’t specific to State. Other bike brands have the same issue. But it’s super lame. Price of being a woman? That’s patriarchy for ya. State- would love a women’s specific saddle as an option. With a new saddle, my bike and I are in love.

Great bike. Solid and performs better than expected! As reviewed by others, brakes are okay, but the over-all form and functionality is awesome. I ride this on steep gravel roads and rural roads near Olympia, Wa.

Awesome bike!!

This is my first gravel bike and from what I can tell is a great bike for the cost. I’ll say, I was a little hesitant right away. After reading a lot of reviews I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the brakes….it seems like State Bike Co. recognized the quality of brakes was an issue and make some upgrades to which I have zero complaints. They took a little bit to get broken in and the shifting took some getting used to, but after about 20 miles it was smooth as butter. I’ve logged about 100 miles so far between gravel and paved paths and I’m super happy. It’s a super comfortable ride!

Fun Bike

Fun bike, exactly what I was looking for. Only complaint is that the headset was loose and a spacer had to be added in order to be able to tighten it down enough to keep it from moving.

The Absolute Best.

Wow. I have so many amazing things to say about this bike and State Bicycle Co.'s customer service! My dad recently got this bike and I had been very jealous of his gorgeous gravel bike, so I did some research. After comparing this model to many other bikes at similar price points, including bikes from Specialized and Canyon, I ultimately decided that this was the absolute best value gravel bike there is for the money. When ordering, I ran into a couple of issues, but they were resolved extremely quickly (on a Sunday night, too) and generously. Let me tell you - this bike looks even better in person than it does online. State did such a nice job on all of the details, colors, and accents, and it just feels so premium. I've put about 40 miles on it now, and boy, does this bike eat. Gravel and dirt has nothing on this bike! It's reactive, grippy, precise, and a very comfortable ride. I had heard some poor reviews on the brakes of this bike, but since then, State has replaced and upgraded the brakes with cable-actuated hydraulic brakes, and they are fantastic with lots of stopping power. State is a company that listens to their customers and actually makes changes based on consumer feedback. You don't see that very much anymore. If you are looking for a well-rounded, gorgeous-looking, and fully capable gravel bike from a high-quality, respected company, look no further than this bike.
