Hi riders!Weekend arrives and we have our last video review! As we promised past weeks, we have tested the single speed Megalith Fat Bike from State Bicycle Co. completely off road near of the river...and on the river.... We have tested the bike in off road, on the grass, on river stones and on river (with water...hehehe). And here we have our video, we wish you like it!
State Bicycle Co. got its start with urban bikes, fixed-gears, and singlespeeds. The Thunderbird, reviewed here, is the brand’s one-gear go at a cyclocross rig. I rode it over the past month on dirt, gravel roads, and pavement for a test. At about $1,000, the bike qualifies as an entry-level competition steed. Or, it’s just a hella fun all-around ride, which can switch from city to dirt, literally, without changing gears.
Inside the halls of Interbike there’s plenty of eye-catching bicycles and accessories. Some grab your attention because they’re innovative. Other times, it’s the quirky and downright strange items that leave you scratching your head. We do our best to keep our show coverage informative and sometimes a bit weird.
In August, State Bicycle Co. co-founder Mehdi Farsi successfully carried out his second annual Hell Ride, a non-competitive, ride-at-your-own-risk event that drew roughly 60 cyclists of all ages — the youngest was 12 — for an eight-mile ride at noon to the top of South Mountain.

Want a bike in a specific color scheme? The State Bicycle Co. website features a lot of fun color options for its basic fixie model. The bikes aren’t fancy, but they do look pretty freaking cool, and The Ranger 2.0 is one of our favorite color schemes. The $449 fixed-gear model comes in glossy hunter green with an option of bullhorn, drop, or riser bars. It’s made with 4130 chromoly steel and comes with a flip-flop hub for fixed or singlespeed riding.

The best way to experience the first warm days of the year is on a bike—coasting, wind in hair, hands tentatively lifting above the handle bars. We bet you've been commuting to work all winter in a cramped sweaty compartment full of people with varying degrees of a cold or flu (and that's just your carpool). It's time to get outta that can and start riding a bike instead. It's good for you, you're gonna look cool doing it, and it will make you feel free. Here are ten that will get you going. Also, wear a helmet, thank you.

Some of you may remember Project: Model-C that we did a couple years back. That was so much fun that we wanted to keep up with some new Project bikes that people may not regular get a chance to ride. Which is what lead us to Project: FGFS. Riding a fixed gear on the street is enough of a challenge for most people. So the thought of trying to do tricks in a park or on the streets on one really blows people’s minds. Our friend Addison Zawada rides for State Bicycle Co. and got us connected with their Shockwave Freestyle model.
A State Bicycle is very distinctive, like no other bike on the road. From top to bottom, riders can customize their fixed gear, single speed, premium fixie, dutch-style city bike, fat bike or off road bike in State Bicycle's web store. Customers can also call the company and they will figure out exactly how to put it together. State Bicycle Co. produces most bike models in a limited-run quantity and then retires them for good after they are sold out. It is the way that they ensure bicycles are one of a kind.
This time of year, many snowbirds fly to Miami for the winter, but Addison Zawada decided to ride his bicycle instead. Over four days in November, the Jacksonville local and Red Bull fixed-gear cyclist pedaled 333,238 revolutions to Miami. He somehow convinced 10 cyclists from three states and two continents to join him on his adventure.
